RED HOOK CRIT MILANO 9
Here's a look back at Team GSO's experience and journey to Red Hook Crit Milano 9 (RHCM9). This year Team GSO featured 4 of their riders mainly Tony Padovan, Bastien Lelli, Sylvain Theron and Lily Bernard. For Lily it was her first experience to be riding in RHCM9. As for the rest of the crews back here, we were also eager to see these guys race for the very first time in Liberty Bikes in one of the most highly anticipated criterium of the year.
A day before the actual race, riders of RHCM9 were all invited to the Vigorelli Velodrome where they were free to ride on the legendary track, snap loads of pictures or just simply catch up with friends from other teams. Here are some snap shots from the velodrome arena.
The actual race day started off wet where riders will have to endure slippery roads surface in their qualifications rounds where the Top 20 will qualify to the finals. Those who didn't qualify will race in "Another Chance" qualification where the Top 5 from that race will qualify to the finals. There were a number of crashes during the intense qualifications and sadly the male riders from Team GSO got caught up from these crashes and just fell short of the qualification mark. For Lily it was her first experience in the RHCM9 and to top it off she managed to reach to the women's finals and fought all the way to 10th. Nevertheless she told us in the video below that it was a great experience to be riding among world class riders and will be back stronger next year.
